NEW LOADS - 2008

We have been in the process of developing some new loads for the 12ga. 3.5" shotgun.  We have three new loads that are now available.  Check our patterning page to see which load works best with your gun. 

H517 - 2 7/16 oz.  1,200 fps is an incredible new load, but the recoil is just as devastating.  This throws a wicked pattern.  The guns that shoot this load reach pellet counts of 280 to 320 pellets in a 10" circle at 40 yards, with the recommended choke.

H51013A - 2 1/4 oz.  1,200 fps is an updated version of our popular H51013.  This load has the same great patterns as our H51013, with ease of cycling in each gun.

H510C - 2 1/4 oz.  1.240 fps patterns like our H51013A, yet has added velocity for harder hitting.

All of our new loads are throwing unbelievable patterns and cycle through any gun we have shot.

NEW 20ga. 3" Hevi-Shot® Turkey Load

Nitro Ray does it again!!  He has created a new 20ga. 3" (Item H276) 1-7/16 oz. 1,200 fps hevi-shot® turkey load that gives patterns never before seen with a 20ga. shotgun.  If I didn't see him shoot the load myself, I wouldn't believe it.  Here are some of the awesome results based on an average of a multitude of shots.

Beretta 3901 20ga. 3" using a Rhino .575 choke 

Item H276 with #4x5x7 hevi-shot® at 40 yards in a 10" circle averaged 191 pellets.
Item H276 with (new shot size) #4x5x6 hevi-shot® at 40 yards in a 10" circle averaged 143 pellets.

 

Mossberg 500 20ga. 3" using a Rhino .575 choke

Item H276 with #4x5x7 hevi-shot® at 40 yards in a 10" circle averaged 197 pellets.
Item H276 with (new shot size) #4x5x6 hevi-shot® at 40 yards in a 10" circle averaged 144 pellets.

 

Charles Daly (semi-auto) 20ga. 3" using a Rhino .575 2" extended choke
(we still need to test this with the standard Rhino .575 choke rather than the 2" head)

New 12ga. 3" Hevi-Shot® Turkey Load

Nitro Ray is developing a new 12ga. 3" (Item #H378I) 1-7/8 oz. 1,200 fps Hevi-Shot® turkey load.  Available in 4x5x7 and 4x5x6 Hevi-Shot®.  We are currently still testing this load.   Listed are some of the early results that we are getting.  We have many more guns and chokes to test, but this will give you an idea of our accomplishments with this new load.

Remington 11-87 12ga. 3" with a 21" barrel 

Item H378I with #4x5x7 hevi-shot® at 40 yards in a 10" circle.

  • Jelly Head .665 Choke - 230 pellets (new shot size 4x5x6 gave 155 pellets)

  • Rhino 2" Extended Choke - 222 pellets

  • Mad Max .660 Choke - 211 pellets

 

Remington 870 12ga. 3" with a 21" barrel 

Item H378I with #4x5x7 hevi-shot® at 40 yards in a 10" circle.

  • Jelly Head .665 Choke - 238 pellets (new shot size 4x5x6 still to be tested)

  • Rhino 2" Extended Choke - 213 pellets (new shot size 4x5x6 gave 186 pellets)

  • Mad Max .660 Choke - 220 pellets

The chokes listed are the three that have shown the best patterns out of those guns.  We still need to test the Jelly Head .660 to get more of a comparison as well as trying a bigger diameter in the other chokes.  As I stated earlier, these are just preliminary results to let you know the types of patterns that we are getting.  We will keep you updated on new testing results as we go.

 

We will also be developing a new Predator Loads for 12ga. 3" & 3.5"

Hevi-Shot® Buck Shot

Hevi-Shot© buckshot is now available!  #00 Buck is the only size available, but it is offered in two different diameters.

Small #00 Buck is .31 Cal. and weighs 54 grains.
Large #00 Buck is .33 Cal and weighs 60 grains.

vs.

Lead #00 Buck is .33 Cal and weighs 54 grains.
Lead #000 Buck is .35 Cal and weighs 64 grains.

Since most 10ga. guns that we have shot with lead prefer #000 buck with amazing results, we are not sure if we will be coming out with a 10ga. hevi-shot® buck shot load, unless they come out with a #000 that weighs more than 64 grains.  I certainly hope that they do!

The 12ga. 3.5" on the other hand is shooting 10% tighter patterns with the Hevi-Shot® buck shot.  We are getting awesome results with the following load:

Item #HB500 12ga. 3.5"  2-1/4 oz. 1,300 FPS.  Excellent load for temperatures between 85 - 0.

HEVI-SHOT® STEEL LOADS

We have come out with a new Hevi-Shot® and Steel duck and goose load.

Item #HS1  10ga. 3.5"  1-3/4 oz.  #2 Hevi-Shot® x #BB Steel Shot  1,340 FPS 
Choke constriction would depend upon the shooting distance.  Use a full choke for long range and a modified choke for shooting over decoys.  A nice uniform pattern in a 30" circle, which is devastating on geese.  We have coated both the #2 Hevi-Shot® and the #BB Steel Shot with our special formula to enhance performance and protect the barrel from scoring.

We also have a few straight Hevi-Shot® duck and goose loads.
